Background
On December 5, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. She was a major advocate for civil rights and believed she had the right to stay seated. Rosa Parks was the secretary of the NAACP and had a significant influence on people that were in the NAACP as well as in the general public.
